Tamil Meaning

குரு மூர்த்தியே! குமாரப்பெருமானே! குலிசாயுதத்தை உடையவனே! பிணிமுகம் என்னும் யானையை வாகனமாகக் கொண்டவனே! சிவயோகத்தை அருளும் கருணா மூர்த்தியே! தாம் கற்ற கல்வியறிவை பிறருக்குப் பயன்படுமாறு எடுத்துச் சொல்லாது வைத்துக் கொண்டிருப்பவர்களிடம் சென்று அடியேன் இரந்து கேளாவண்ணம் தேவரீர் உண்மை ஞானப்பொருளை ஈந்து அருள்புரிவீரோ?

English Meaning

O, Lord Thirumurugapperumaan! You are the Preceptor (to Lord Sivaperumaan)! You have the kulicaayutham ('thunderbolt')! You have the elephant (known as the pinimukam) as the vehicle! You are the Lord of compassion, who grants me the blessings of Siva-Yokam! Will You graciously grant me the blessings of real (spiritual) wisdom, so that I shall not go and beg for knowledge from those, who selfishly keep the knowledge, which they have learnt, without expounding it to others for their benefit?
