பிரமன் முதலாய விண்ணோர் தங்கள் தலையுச்சிமேல் அணியும் செந்தாமரை மலர்களையொக்கும் திருவடிகளை உடையவரே! வள்ளியம்மையாரின் திருவடிகளைத் தேவரீரின் முடிமீது கொள்பவரே! சிவபெருமான், 'நாதரே, குமராய நம' என்று வணங்கி [பிரணவ மந்திரத்தின் பொருளைத் தமக்கு] உபதேசிப்பீராக என்று கேட்கத் தேவரீர் உபதேசித்தருளிய பொருள்தான் யாதோ?

O, Lord, who has red lotus-flower-like Sacred Feet, which Brahmaa and the other celestials wear on the top of their heads! O, Lord, You have Valli-ammmaiyar's Sacred Feet over Your Head! What is the meaning of the Sacred [pranava] mantra which You graciously expounded to Lord Sivaperumaan, who addressed You as Naathaa, and adored You with the mantra 'Kumaraaya nama'?
